Facilities
The premises cover four acres and, apart from the administration and marketing centres, include 9700 sq. metres of chill storage that can accommodate 7,000+ pallets in twelve individual chill stores with 18 loading bays under conditions that are ideal for the fresh produce that is entrusted to our care.
Within this area we have a modern pack house of 2,000 sq. meters which works within a temperature controlled regime. The build specifications are of the highest standards and feature the latest applications in safety, handling and cooling technology. Discharge of conventional trailers or containers can be achieved quickly, smoothly and safely without the products suffering fluctuations in temperature.
A generator is installed to enable refrigeration, packing, phones and IT systems to continue running in the event of a power outage.
A Ripening Room has been added to allow Peter Gilding & Co Ltd. to provide Ripe and Ready products for their customers.

The Company is fully compliant with all relevant food safety legislation with full traceability of product and has achieved BRC A grade. All suppliers are 100% G.A.P. accredited and their facilities have achieved BRC accreditation.
Logistics
Peter Gilding and Company Limited imports from all corners of the world and our efficient team manage arrivals on an hour to hour basis. Working with approved industry leading hauliers throughout Europe, the transport and logistics team provide real-time information on the precise location and estimated delivery times of all refrigerated vehicles.
During the southern hemisphere season, the Company uses a small number of freight forwarders specially chosen for their expertise and experience of working to the time critical requirements of the fresh produce industry. The transport and logistics team oversee the complete supply chain from the overseas grower packing the container to arrival at Knowsley.
